H&M’S STAR-STUDDED FASHION AGAINST AIDS COLLECTION

Artists from the worlds of film and music are supporting Fashion Against AIDS (FAA) this Spring, H&M’s and Designers Against AIDS’s (DAA) mutual initiative to help spread the message of safe sex and HIV/AIDS prevention to young people around the globe.

Selma Blair, Penn Badgley, Keri Hilson, Sky Ferreira, Akon, Nikki Reed, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scissor Sisters, Shiloh Fernandez and The Misshapes are among the celebrities involved in this year’s FAA collection, which for 2011 is a unisex range. The collection is available in H&M’s Divided department and online from April 26, with 25% of sales donated to the charity Designers Against AIDS (DAA) and various other international HIV/AIDS prevention projects. The FAA campaigns have so far raised more than 41 million Swedish krona.
“I think it’s really fitting that this collection is androgynous in style since the disease affects both men and women. It’s a universal thing and we are all in this together. It’s a disease that can be avoided and it’s especially tragic when our ignorance keeps us from safety.” Selma Blair.

“I’ve had a lot of friends who’ve been in the situation where their friends and family have been affected by HIV. As I travel the world, I see how much HIV affects people. It’s not like we have a cure for HIV, we only have prevention. Make sure you are protected so that you don’t ever have to worry about it. Ever.” Akon.

“Artists are an essential part of our campaigns, as they are role models for so many young people. Celebrities help to spread the message by speaking out about HIV/AIDS prevention. We’re asking them to help spread the safe sex message on social media: Twitter, Facebook, their own websites and at their concerts too.” Ninette Murk, founder and creative director, DAA.

When the stars come together for H&M’s Fashion Against AIDS campaign, it really shows this year’s unisex collection at its best. Selma Blair wears a stylish Spring coat over a slogan T-shirt, while Penn Badgley wears an essential hoodie over his T-shirt. Shiloh Fernandez sports a khaki nylon parka, T-shirt and jeans; Ana Matronic of Scissor Sisters wears her peach version of the trench as a dress. Singer Keri Hilson has a cool slogan jumpsuit. It’s all so versatile, and all helps spreading the message about HIV/AIDS prevention.

Is a new and innovative Dutch accessory label founded in 2009 by Tj Walakani. All of the shoes, bags and accessories are individually handmade in Indonesia and other parts of Asia with craftsmanship, love and attention.
TIGA TIGA handmade shoes are distinctively characterized by the eye catching designs, sense of style and quality of workmanship.
The collection is constantly being updated with a wide choice of styles.
The current collection includes a futuristic purple platform bootie with a 5 inch heel for fashion forward women.All designs come in limited editions, ensuring the TIGA TIGA customer will always be wearing something special.

Roparosa has used our shoes for her SS2011 show during the AIFW in July 2010, as well as being used for her AW 2011-2012 show during the AIFW in January 2011.
Our shoes have also been shown together with established brands such as United Nude and Sacha Shoes in the GRAZIA PC Catwalk previous summer 2010 in the famous P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam.
We have gained strong results with our designs in both printed and online medias such as JAN, Grazia, LINK, Sublime Magazine, Glossy, Nouveau and GLAMCULT.

Better World
TiGA-TiGA will donate certain amount of the profit to Cinta Foundation. This foundation provides housing, education, food and medical care in Indonesia for orphans by setting up various projects to create employment for local community.

Cheap Monday (LAUNCHES SHOE AND UNDERWEAR COLLECTIONS)

Hi honeys,when I was at GDS I rediscoverd the brand cheap monday
The most people will know the brand from there jeans but now they have this amazing shoe collection,I just totally fell in love with those shoes.During autumn 2011, Cheap Monday’s range will grow with the launch of two new
product categories: shoes and underwear. Both will be available as complete
collections, and will also include in season releases. The launches will initially take
place across eight markets, plus a few additional markets through selected key
accounts.

The shoe range consists of a main collection and an in season collection / season. The first collection will be in stores in August 2011 and contains eleven styles for women and six styles for men in several different materials and colourways.
The underwear range consists of a main collection and an in season collection / season as well as an additional special collection. The first collection is set to be in stores in October 2011 and
contains of three programmes each for women and men.
During the launch phase, the relevant markets for the shoe and underwear collections are the Nordic countries, France, Italy, Germany, UK and Australia.


Shoes

The women’s collection includes boots, several styles of ankle boots, lace-up boots, bootees and pumps. Among the men’s styles are ankle boots, a tall lace-up boot, and updated versions of jodhpurs, biker boots and desert boots.


The dominant materials for the women’s styles are leather, canvas and waxed suede. Leather and canvas predominate in the men’s styles.
Consumer prices are in the range EUR 40 –170 for ladies and EUR 40 –140 for men.

There's a new concept in town:SHUFU shoes

Did you ever heard about the concept of shoes were you can change the velcro tapes.
The Idea is not from a shoe designer but from an economiat.
He always saw kids with shoelaces of several colors at the same time in the same sneaker
So he thought maybe  he could change the shoelaces into the velcro straps could that was the begining of the process, He went on internet and learnt how to draw the first sketch et voilá. after that he went to a shoedesigner and he made the tecnical design of his idea.

How amazing is that if you aren't a shoe designer to make this concept!
Could you even imagine high heels with change-able velcro tapes
with all kind of prints( lalaleopard) ?

In my opinion is this a great concept en ideal for little kids if they cant tie there shoelaces,whats your opinion about this concept?
